Lake Bled

Mystic lake Bled

Bled with its lake certainly belongs among the most beautiful Slovenian natural pearls, surrounded by majestic plains and high mountains. The Swiss hydropath, Arnold Rikli, saw the exceptional beauty and natural location of Bled, perfect for the development of tourism. The distinguishing point of Bled is the lake, which is adorned by an island. There is a church of Mary's Ascension on the island, with 99 stairs leading up to it. You may reach the island by taking a ride on a traditional, homemade boat – pletna – another specialty of Bled. Above the lake, the castle hill rises, with a beautiful medieval castle, which offers an amazing view of the lake and nearby plains. Many historical and cultural events take place at the castle, with the environment of the castle lending them its special charm. Bled is an ideal starting point for the visit of nearby natural and cultural vistas, such as the Triglav National Park, Iški Vintgar, Ribno, Šobec, Pokljuka, Bohinj, Vogel, etc. It is 85 km or 1 hour and 25 minutes' drive away from the Herbal Glamping Resort.
